NJ American refuses to cancel Water Line Protection Plan
I paid $12.80/month to NJ American water for years for a Water Line Protection Plan for my home in Strathmere, NJ. When I was notified that the plan cost was increased from $12.80/month to $19.18/month, I called and cancelled it.
I received written notice from NJ American Water of its cancellation. BUT, they won't stop charging me. Its been four consecutive months of over charges. Each month (now its March 2024) when I call NJ American, they say they are not responsible, that I must contact Water Line Protection Plan.

Misinformation
I phoned Tennessee American Resource about low water pressure in my bathroom. I asked was this covered and I was told it was.
I was sent an email about submitting a claim. The customer service rep let me know I will have to reach out to a plumber because they didnt have one in my area. The plumber came out and gave me a quote I called Tn resource and they said the low water pressure is not covered and they will not refund my $69 for the service fee. Ronny the customer service rep was VERY insensitive and didnt offer any help.
How is this my fault. Please, please do Not get this service because its a SCAM. They are out to get your money every month and wont offer a solution to your problem.
This is so unprofessional. Shame on yall!!!

I called American water resources for a waterline that was broken in the front yard. I was covered for this issue but American water resources only has one contractor in the area and they were not able to do the job.
At this time I was told I needed to find my own contractor but all the work had to be photographed and approved before getting reimbursed. The project is now finished and I have sent in all the forms and photos so I can get reimbursed. I then find out that it could take up to 45 days before I am reimbursed. When you sign up for the insurance program it clearly says Sit back and relax and let us do the work.
Hassle free! Let me tell you this has been a major hassle. I had to call a bunch of plumbers before I could even get one to come out to stop the leak. Then I had to make sure I was at the house to take photographs of the work being done for proof.
Now I am waiting on being reimbursed which I had to put $5000 on my credit card right before Christmas. Well my credit cards maxed out and I need to buy Christmas gifts.
If they had more than one contractor I wouldnt have to go through all of this because they would pay the contractor directly. But since they only have one contractor that they work with and they werent couldnt do they job because they were over cooked I had to do EVERYTHING.
Preferred solution: I would like faster reimbursement when I have sent all forms, photos and bank info for direct deposit. Also they need more than one contractor so other customers don’t have to go through what I am.

I called yesterday to file a claim. I spoke with Barronton and he scheduled TUSA to come out on 1/7/2023 between 10:00-2:00 anyway.
I informed Barronton a family membe died and I will beDon attending a funeral on 1/7/2023. Barronton scheduled them anyway. I called the AWR 1/7/2023 @7:52 am and someone answered and hung up. I called back and spoke with Ronny.
He was just as bad as Barronton. I ask to speak with a supervisor or director and Ronny replied the company does not have one. I informed Ronny that's not true, and I will be going on your website and letting the company AWR know. This kind of behavior I do not tolerate.
AMR has HORRIBLE associates working for them now. I don't know what happen to the company, but it's BAD. Customer service has been HORRIBLE since 10/01/2022. My cousin informed me about AMR.
When I joined AWR, they were great. I informed 5 people, and they joined AWR as well.
However, AWR is going downhill fast. I have heard nothing but BAD things from my friends that joined AWR.
Preferred solution: I would like for the company to schedule me with Ace Plumbing who I have dealt with the whole time I have been with AWR.

My first negative review on any company...
I wish I was more diligent about this company. They actually have terrible reviews.
I advise to please read the BBB complaints as they are all very similar. Research on them because they do get sued. DO NOT FALL FOR THE 4 STARS!
DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They have LIMITED COVERAGE and how much is covered is NOT COMPARABLE TO OTHER COMPANIES if you even get it covered.
If you think it's covered, read your policy again. THEY WILL NOT EXPLAIN IT TO YOU. MANY will tell you it's covered even after asking questions and then when something is happened, it just might not be covered.
When it's an "emergency", there's no specific time they will get there. Yes, they will answer calls 24/7 but it won't get you service.
I had an emergency where I couldn't use the water in my house but they messed up with sending the FIRST company the right paperwork therefore further delaying someone coming out to you. I wouldn't have seen someone in TWO days but I found out BY MYSELF that the plumber company was TWO HOURS away from me. I had to call multiple times just for one person to finally get me a plumber closer to my house. Then you have to wait AT LEAST another day before any work is done because THEY have to approve it.
How ridiculous is it that I had to take a shower outside my house and drive elsewhere to use the bathroom until they decide when to help you. (Yes, I could've gotten a hotel but I waited for home insurance to approve hotel reimbursement PLUS I have dogs to take care of. This all requires coordination and you have to work with what you got). By the way, they won't call you to tell you they won't fix it and neither will they give you a paper trail to tell you why they denied your claim.
It's really to protect themselves because they're not looking out for your best interest, just your monthly payment.
THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRENDOUS! The probability of getting someone who's nice enough to help you is slim and generally you get someone different EVERY time you call and they make you repeat your problem before trying to help you...but again...they won't help you. When I asked to speak to a manager/supervisor to speak about my concerns, they said they would "email a supervisor" for a call back or "the supervisor is in a meeting". This is EVERY time you call.
By the way, I still have not gotten a call back. It's been days already. One employee actually laughed on the phone and hung up on me. When things get difficult, they hang up on you or they say they'll transfer you but really they're putting you on hold before hanging up.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY! I can't even explain the horrible experience within this review.
Bottom line.
PICK ANOTHER COMPANY! I really can't stress this enough.
